Its a trip! You have to put your headphones on and listen to this. Its very hard to put it in a single genre, its ambient, chill, downtempo electronic music. But for this review we'll simply call it beautiful electronic music :)

The music is melodic with good beats and rhythms. Its filled with static pops, clicks and sweeping pads. The music tends to build up to a virtual cacophony but still retains an amazing soothing quality. Really something you can listen to while having to keep your concentration.

Drawing? painting? writing? thinking? This will help the mood a lot.

If you like Plaid or Fizzarum this is a must.

Funky downtempo beats with detuned retro synth sequences give an overall dreamy effect to this album. It's rich in textures and pads, again almost almost Boards of Canada'ish. If you are into the BoC style, this album should appeal to you greatly.

If you like Boards of Canada at all, download this album and give it a spin. Im not saying this comes close to Boards of Canada, but it does have some of the same elements... Nice Synth layers and good rhythmic beats create great sonic soundscapes. I wont give it a full 5 stars, but its definitely worth 3.5 to 4.0

A very interesting album from Resynthesize, Heart and Soul Direct has many elements one would want in IDM. Its got loads of bleeps, blips, noises and other elements that keep your attention through most of the album. There are a few tracks which I found to be a little too monotonous and i would recommend any newcomer to the IDM genre to give the album at least two or three plays. IDM is a style that sort of grows on you...

Overall if you are into IDM or electronica this album is worth downloading. Experimedia offer the album in a FLAC (Loss less Audio) as well as mp3 format.

Ben Crea - Employee of the Month

So you want to get the party started? Ben Crea's Employee of the month album should do the trick. Superbly laid down house tunes with a smooth Jazzy feel really gets your foot tapping. Using saxophone, thumping beats and deep bass lines Ben Crea created some really good house music.

Out of the 5 tracks on this release 4 of them are really good. The 5th is also pretty good, but its a Madonna bootleg and I just don't like her voice (I must be the only person alive who feels that way). But if you could mute her voice it would have also gotten a full two thumbs up from me.

It's definitely worth the download...

Chillmeister's first release is a short compilation album containing some really good chill out music.

I could sit and describe every track for you in detail, but i feel that we all have our own interpretation of electronic music. All i can say is that every track is fantastic! Its the sort of album that, when it finishes you wish it didn't, so you just have to listen to it again and again.

It seems that the Chillmeister net label is more focused on quality rather than quantity and this album is definitely worth the bandwidth if you are into chillout or ambient. Apparently there is a new release on the horizon in the next few weeks. We will keep you posted.

The album's track selection is superb and personally I would spend money on this album.

Our quest ...

We hope to find the best free music out there review it and give you the download links to them as well. It will hopefully give you people a starting point on what to download and where to find "good" free music.

In the next few weeks, we hope to have a couple of reviews and we might have a couple of interviews lined up for you as well.

What Genre you ask?
We wont be focusing on any specific genre. Personally I like a very wide variety of musical styles and hope that my opinion is worth something. So we will try and cover it all ... from Ambient to Death metal and everything in between.

I am sure you can imagine that opinions will differ and if you don't agree with our reviews, post a comment and we will keep it in mind for our other reviews. To cover such a wide range of music we cannot always accommodate for the fans of an extreme forms of a genre.

But at the end of the day ... we hope to steer you at some good free tunes ...
